Shuttle Launches Haswell Barebones Mini PC – SH87R6

Shuttle Inc., the world’s leading brand in cube size mini PCs, is launching new XPC products that are equipped latest Intel Haswell processor, the latest fourth-generation Core™ i7/i5/i3 processor, integrating new Intel® HD Graphics core compatible with DirectX 11.1 instructions. It provides a huge improvement from the previous-generation Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs in terms of processor and GPU performance. The HDMI and DVI-I output connectors provided on rear panels support two independent displays and built-in 7.1-channel audio, offering users 1080P / Full-HD high-definition video and entertainment enjoyment.

For expansion, the SH87R6 is equipped with four long DIMM memory slots supporting dual-channel DDR3-1600 memory with total capacity up to 32GB. Also provided is one PCI-E x16 and one PCI-E x1 slot in which a single -slot graphics card and an expansion card can both be added, or one dual-slot high-end graphics card can be added for customized 3D graphics performance or other expansion functions. Also built in are two Mini-PCIe slots as well as a half-size slot supporting a WiFi card. In addition, there is another full-size slot supporting mSATA SSD card to provide more flexible storage options.

The Intel® H87 chipsets fully supports the SATA 6Gbps high-speed storage interface and include native support for USB 3.0. The SH87R6 is equipped with four SATA 6Gbps slots, supporting Intel® Rapid Storage Technology, and RAID 0 / 1/5 disk array operation mode, data access rates can be accelerated or data can be protected when the hard drive fails. With support for Intel® Smart Response Technology, the advantages of hard disk drives (HDD) and solid state drive (SSD) can be combined to hybrid hard disk, allowing ordinarily used programs and important files to be automatically saved to SSD to enhance the computer's performance.

Adopting the new R6 chassis design, the SH87R6 comes in brushed-finish (hair-line finish) black cases. The USB ports in the front panels support quick-charge functions for smartphones or tablets. The small size and full scalability of the SH87R6, based on Intel’s next-generation Haswell platform, provide the powerful performance you need to easily experience Full HD video, entertainment and HTPC.

Note: The LGA1150 socket is not compatible with the pinout (eg LGA1155) of Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors.
