Shuttle Inc., the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of small form factor (SFF) computers today announced the launch of its next generation XPC – the SZ87R6 –equipped with an Intel® Z87 Express chipset to support Intel’s® latest high-performance Haswell processor. It’s only 1/3 the size of a traditional tower PC and supports high-end professional graphics cards, making it very suitable for multi-display, video wall, mini server and other commercial applications.
SZ87R6 supports Intel’s® fourth-generation Core i3/i5/i7 Haswell processor with built-in DirectX 11.1, compatible with the Intel® HD Graphics for significantly increased CPU and GPU performance. The HDMI 1.4 and DVI-I output connectors provided on rear panels support two independent displays and built-in 7.1-channel audio can smoothly play 1080P / Full-HD video content.

The SZ87R6 has one PCI-E x16 slot (supports Dual Slot VGA card) with Shuttle’s exclusive I.C.E 2 heat pipe cooling technology and smart fan, made for high-end professional graphics cards for multi-display and video wall application. Equipped with 80 PLUS Silver certified 500W power supply, the SZ87R6 can maintain high stability for long-term operation.
The SZ87R6 features strong expansion capability. With 10 USB ports and optional RS232/LPT, the system provides strong expansion for easy connection to thermal printers, label printing machines, barcode scanners and more.
The SZ87R6 features dual gigabit LAN ports that support Wake on LAN and Teaming functions.
A Mini-PCIe slot as well as a half-size slot supporting 802.11b/g/n wireless network card. It can not only enhance the efficiency and flexibility of the network but can also be easily done remotely manage hosts with the right software saving unnecessary management and control cost.
Shuttle SZ87R6 features Intel’s latest Z87 express chipset which fully supports SATA 6Gbps. SZ87R6 is equipped with four onboard SATA ports Revision 3.0 delivering high link speeds of 6Gbps. With Intel® Rapid Storage Technology, the SZ87R6 offers greater levels of protection, responsiveness, performance and expandability when system is configured as RAID 1, RAID 5 or RAID 10 model. Meanwhile, the fault tolerance function allows for easy data recovery after plugging in a good condition hard disk. There is another full-size slot to be able to use mSATA (Mini Serial ATA) SSD card with Intel® Smart Response Technology which allows a SSD to function as cache for a conventional hard disk drive (HDD). It allows ordinarily used programs and important files to be automatically saved to SSD to improve system performance and save procurement costs.
To meet the needs of business applications, the SZ87R6 supports Watch Dog Time function to provide excellent security protection for systems that need to operate continuously for long periods of time. Finally, the Timer ON/OFF function with Windows or third party software allows for energy saving operations as well as the elimination of the cost of on-site service.
