Shuttle launches the latest Slim PC DS57U with Intel® Broadwell platform

Shuttle Inc., the global leader in small form factor computer technology, today announces the latest Intel® Broadwell platform, DS57U for digital signage, kiosk, POS, and office use. Built on with 14nm Intel® Celeron® 3205U 1.5GHz dual core processing power, the maximum TDP is only 15W and support for DDR3L-1333/1600 memory module with low-voltage 1.35V. It only uses 65W adapter to keep system long time operation.
The DS57U, equipped with Intel® Celeron 3205U dual-core processor, built-in Intel® HD Graphics, is capable of playing 1080P Full HD video content; at the rear panel of DS57U provides HDMI and DisplayPort for dual-screen display.
*There are three optional SKUs, including DS57U3 (i3-5005U), DS57U5 (i5-5200U), and DS57U7 (i7-5500U) support for 4K/Ultra HD video playback.

Geared towards commercial application, the DS57U is 24/7 certified and can be just as easily applied to digital signage as it can to thin client. The device is fanless which means it eliminates power consumption as well as the cost of replacing fans. In addition, because it is fanless the DS57U is more shock resistant as there are no moving parts in the device. It is built for moderately industrial settings as it uses quality materials and parts and is able to operate within 0-40 ℃ temperatures.
The DS57U is made with a durable metal chassis that features an easy, two-step process for configuration of components. The DS57U is also highly connectable with multiple I/O, including USB3.0/USB2.0, and two COM ports (RS232, RS232/422/485); Dual Intel® Gigabit LAN ports provide high-speed data transfer capability and a better compatibility for business network environments.

It features a body thickness of only 39.5mm and is VESA mountable, designed for easy integration into places with limited space. DS57U closes the gap between lower-performance solutions and high-performance desktop PCs.
